ABOUT POPPORTUNITIES

Long-time St. Louis residence Natalie Pennington and mom, Geneva West opened their popcorn shop in Florissant MO, in March of 2013. Both are former employees at Boeing, Geneva retired in 2010 and Natalie leaving in 2013 after they started their popcorn business. Both being previous business owners of a hair salon, wanted to open up a different kind of business, something that Florissant did not have.

After much prayer Natalie heard through her prayers a popcorn, and after discussion with her husband, Natalie took the idea to her mom of opening a popcorn store, Popportunities Gourmet Popcorn was born.

The first store was opened in March of 2013 in the Flower Valley Shopping Center. After 2 ½ years they decided to move to a much better location located at 2308 N. Hwy 67, also known as Lindbergh.

Shoppers can always catch a whiff of popcorn smell in the air at Popportunities. The small shop offers a number of flavored popcorns—ranging from simple flavors such as caramel popcorn, St. Louis, Chicago and deluxe cheddar to more interesting flavors such as oreo, reese’s peanut butter, green apple, strawberry cheesecake and buffalo blue cheese as well as a host of other flavors, made in house daily.

Although they offer more than 30 flavors, the display case only holds 15 at a time. Most importantly, all of the flavors are made in house.
